Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with approved plans and safety standards
- Review engineering drawings and technical specifications for infrastructure projects
- Document violations and issue corrective action notices to contractors
- Coordinate with city engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Conduct field tests on materials (soil, concrete, asphalt) to verify quality
- Assist in resolving construction disputes and recommending solutions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or engineering experience
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Inspector certification required
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical specifications
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and traverse construction sites
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
