Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compressors) under supervision
- Assist in roadway maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Maintain accurate work logs and inventory of tools/materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on construction timelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Preferred: 1+ years construction/public works experience
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US
- Ability to obtain required city certifications within 6 months
