Responsibilities
- Maintain city parks, sidewalks, and public facilities through routine inspections and repairs
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., dump trucks, snowplows) for infrastructure projectsRespond to weather emergencies (snow removal, storm damage cleanup)Assist with road maintenance, drainage systems, and traffic controlCollaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projectsEnsure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city regulationsDocument work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalentValid Maryland driver's license with clean recordMinimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related fieldAbility to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in all weather conditionsOSHA 10-hour certification preferredBasic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshootingAbility to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends during emergencies
