Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including paving, landscaping, and facility maintenance
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for project coordination
- Conduct routine inspections of public works assets
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years construction/municipal experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
