Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, sidewalk installations, and storm drain cleaning
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power washers) and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in park maintenance, landscaping, and community beautification projects
- Support emergency response efforts during severe weather events and public safety incidents
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and city maintenance standards
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Missouri driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Certification in OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergency call-outs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse teams
