Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance including pothole repairs, sidewalk replacements, and storm drain clearing
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Assist in snow removal and ice control during winter weather events
- Conduct park maintenance including landscaping, trash removal, and equipment repairs
- Support emergency response teams during natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols and maintain equipment in proper working condition
- Complete daily work logs and submit required documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Certification in equipment operation preferred (e.g., CDL Class B)
