Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including dump trucks, excavators, and street sweepers
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure projects including road repairs, sidewalk construction, and park maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to strict safety protocols while working in various weather conditions
- Assist in emergency response efforts during severe weather events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment maintenance
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse teams
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
