Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers
- Assist in stormwater drainage system inspections and repairs
- Execute landscaping projects in parks and green spaces
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure issues
- Conduct daily equipment safety checks and preventive maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments on community improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong commitment to public service and community engagement
- Pass background check and drug screening
