Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and pavement breakers
- Assist with stormwater drainage systems and erosion control projects
- Support recycling and waste management operations
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Conduct regular inspections of public infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering teams on municipal improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B)
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Strong commitment to public service and safety protocols
