Job Overview
As a Public Works Laborer, you will perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks essential to the maintenance and improvement of public infrastructure. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and a commitment to public service. Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, hauling, lifting, and grading.
- Operate and maintain light to medium heavy equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, and jackhammers.
- Assist in the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, storm drains, and public parks.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices and construction zones safely.
- Inspect and report infrastructure damage or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA guidelines while on site.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Missouri Driver's License with good driving record.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screen.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safety procedures is preferred.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
