Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for construction and maintenance of public roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light equipment such as jackhammers, saws, and pressure washers safely and efficiently
- Assist in traffic control and site setup for municipal projects
- Load/unload construction materials and tools at job sites
- Conduct routine inspections of public works infrastructure
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Experience with basic hand tools and light machinery preferred
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions including extreme heat and inclement weather
- Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
