Responsibilities
- Execute heavy manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate light machinery (compactors, jackhammers, saws) under supervision
- Perform routine maintenance on public infrastructure (sidewalks, drainage systems)
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Assist skilled tradespersons with complex construction projects
- Document daily work activities and material usage
- Participate in emergency response during natural disasters
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience in construction or municipal labor
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic math skills for measurements and inventory
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
