Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and drainage system maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public works facilities and report hazards
- Assist in stormwater management and flood prevention initiatives
- Maintain accurate work logs and safety documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class B CDL license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction/public works
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Basic knowledge of city infrastructure systems
