Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including road repair, drainage maintenance, and landscape upkeep
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with crew members on sidewalk repair and ADA compliance improvements
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works emergencies
- Maintain accurate work records and equipment inspection logs
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varied weather
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work required
