Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) under supervision
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and debris removal
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and storm drain clearing
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and proper equipment handling
- Support park maintenance and public facility upkeep projects
- Document work progress and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Respectful communication skills and teamwork mentality
