As a Public Works Laborer, you'll perform vital tasks supporting our city's infrastructure and beautification initiatives. We provide paid training, safety equipment, and a collaborative team environment where your contributions directly impact our community's quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt patching
- Maintain public spaces including parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response during storms and natural disasters
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain equipment maintenance logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement projects
- Participate in vegetation control and landscape maintenance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Ability to obtain flagger certification within 30 days
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Preferred: 1+ years construction/public works experience
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work
