Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, paving, and concrete work for municipal infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, loaders, and street sweepers with proper safety protocols
- Assist in stormwater management systems maintenance and snow/ice removal operations during winter months
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of public facilities including parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects and emergency response initiatives
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and city safety standards while maintaining clean and organized job sites
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction equipment operation preferred
- Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to obtain required certifications
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow verbal/written instructions
