Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, graders)
- Perform manual labor for street repair, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Assist in construction projects including sidewalk installation and traffic signal work
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety compliance checks
- Collaborate with crews on stormwater management and erosion control
- Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment, and work progress
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or public works
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and equipment operation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends during emergencies
