Responsibilities
- Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials and equipment to job sites.
- Operate and maintain light to heavy-duty construction equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with street maintenance activities such as pothole repair, line striping, and sign installation.
- Clear drainage ditches, catch basins, and rights-of-way to ensure proper water flow and prevent flooding.
- Inspect existing infrastructure for defects, wear, and damage, reporting findings to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly after use.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and departmental policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and reading blueprints.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
