Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and debris removal
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, compactors) under supervision
- Maintain work sites by clearing hazards and ensuring safety compliance
- Assist skilled tradespeople with infrastructure repairs and installations
- Load/unload materials and transport supplies to project locations
- Document daily work activities and material usage
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform strenuous tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic math skills for measurement and material calculation
- Flexibility to work nights/weekends during emergencies
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience with hand/power tools and heavy equipment preferred
