Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and paving equipment
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public infrastructure
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute project plans
- Document daily progress and maintain accurate work logs
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of construction or public works experience
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and surveying equipment
- Fluency in English and Spanish highly desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
