Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and equipment operation for public infrastructure projects
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders) and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Maintain accurate work logs and project documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex urban development projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class A preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and measurement tools
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical examination
