Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) safely and efficiently
- Assist in street maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Support emergency response efforts during natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement initiatives
- Document work progress and maintain equipment logs accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of construction/maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety equipment
- Successful background check and drug screening required
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable
