Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and stormwater infrastructure upkeep
- Operate heavy machinery safely (e.g., dump trucks, graders) for municipal projects
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated infrastructure improvements
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Respond to emergency weather-related maintenance requests
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B)
- Minimum 2 years of construction/maintenance experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
