Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and operating hand tools
- Assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and parks
- Operate light machinery and equipment under supervision (e.g., lawnmowers, snow blowers)
- Ensure work areas are safe and clean, adhering to all safety protocols
- Respond to emergency situations such as storms, floods, or other natural disasters
- Assist in traffic control and public safety during road work events
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment operation
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
