Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, graders, and dump trucks safely
- Assist in emergency storm response and infrastructure recovery operations
- Conduct site inspections and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city protocols
- Participate in community outreach initiatives for public infrastructure awareness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with proficiency
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor conditions
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
