Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light equipment including sweepers, mowers, and hand tools safely
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control initiatives
- Support landscaping and beautification projects across public parks and facilities
- Conduct inspections and document infrastructure conditions using digital tools
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated project execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- 1+ years of experience in construction, landscaping, or maintenance
- Ability to operate hand/power tools and light machinery safely
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and best practices
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to follow verbal/written instructions
