Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including street repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and debris removal
- Operate light machinery (street sweepers, loaders) and hand tools safely
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Follow OSHA protocols and maintain compliance with city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure projects
- Document work activities and report safety hazards
- Support community beautification initiatives and public space upkeep
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment operation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety standards
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Previous municipal or construction experience a plus
