Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, lifting, carrying, and operating hand tools for infrastructure projects
- Assist in construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities
- Operate light equipment such as jackhammers, saws, and small trucks under supervision
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean, organized work sites
- Participate in traffic control and flagging operations during road maintenance
- Collaborate with crew members on project timelines and daily tasks
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to supervisors
- Support emergency response efforts during weather-related events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
- Must pass pre-employment physical examination and background check
- Experience in public works or construction preferred but not required
