Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws) safely and efficiently
- Maintain public spaces including parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency storm response and infrastructure repairs
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project completion
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic tool knowledge
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
