Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators and backhoes for construction projects
- Perform manual labor including digging, lifting materials, and debris removal
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure for safety hazards
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and sidewalk installations
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols and traffic control procedures
- Maintain accurate work logs and complete daily progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with basic hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Strong teamwork ethic and commitment to public service
