Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and debris removal for municipal projects
- Operate light equipment such as jackhammers, saws, and trenchers under supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and storm drain cleaning
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and departmental standards
- Load/unload materials and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Participate in emergency response activities during natural disasters
- Complete daily equipment inspection and maintenance reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal services preferred
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and flexible schedules
- Strong teamwork skills and commitment to public service values
