Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including digging, shoveling, and lifting materials
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws) safely and effectively
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage projects, and facility repairs
- Follow safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule
- Report maintenance issues and equipment needs to supervisors
- Participate in emergency response operations as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience preferred
- Strong commitment to workplace safety standards
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Previous public works or construction experience a plus
