Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and snow plows during winter months.
- Assist with drainage cleaning, sewer maintenance, and water main repairs.
- Collect and dispose of litter, debris, and refuse from public right-of-way areas.
- Assist in traffic control, flagging, and crowd management during public events.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and departmental policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Illinois Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50+ pounds repeatedly.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and public service.
