Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, excavators, and dump trucks
- Conduct seasonal park upkeep including landscaping and facility repairs
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure issues
- Assist in waste management and recycling program operations
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or construction
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (CDL Class B preferred)
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and surveying techniques
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
