Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment (street sweepers, garbage trucks, snow removal vehicles)
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (roads, drainage systems, traffic signals)
- Respond to emergency service calls during weather events and public safety incidents
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated service delivery
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of equipment operation or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clean driving record and background check clearance
