Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., dump trucks, graders, trenchers)
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather events
- Conduct regular inspections of municipal assets and document findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and material usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Must pass background check and drug screening
