Responsibilities
- Operate light machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks) for infrastructure maintenance
- Perform manual labor including road repairs, park upkeep, and facility maintenance
- Enforce safety protocols during all operations and emergency response situations
- Assist with stormwater management and flood control initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs accurately
- Respond to citizen service requests regarding public infrastructure concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with hand/power tools and basic machinery operation
- Strong work ethic in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems preferred
