Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure repairs and maintenance projects
- Follow strict safety protocols for equipment and construction sites
- Assist in traffic control and public area barricading operations
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance
- Document daily project progress and material usage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout shift
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
