Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction labor
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of heavy machinery operation and maintenance
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and community service
