Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including road maintenance, drainage system upkeep, and park facility repairs
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, mowers, small excavators) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events (flood control, debris removal)
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment storage facilities
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and city maintenance procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and minor troubleshooting
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or public maintenance preferred
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
