Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and sidewalk maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently (backhoes, graders, dump trucks)
- Assist in stormwater management and snow removal operations
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report hazards
- Maintain equipment and work areas per safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Adhere to all federal, state, and municipal regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with heavy equipment operation (backhoes, loaders)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Alaska residency required for certain positions
