Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including excavation, grading, and concrete installation
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, bulldozers, asphalt pavers) with OSHA compliance
- Perform preventative maintenance on municipal infrastructure systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on stormwater management initiatives
- Implement safety protocols for confined spaces and elevated work zones
- Document daily progress through digital reporting systems
- Participate in emergency response operations for weather-related incidents
Qualifications
- 3+ years of municipal construction experience preferred
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Ability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with GPS survey equipment and blueprints
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (CDL training acceptable)
- Clean driving record with no moving violations in past 5 years
