Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, dump trucks) under proper supervision and safety protocols
- Conduct routine maintenance on roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Assist in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and maintain a clean, organized worksite
- Complete daily inspection reports and documentation of work activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project coordination and efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in construction or civil engineering preferred
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions (heat, humidity, occasional rain)
- Experience with hand/power tools and basic construction equipment operation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Basic computer literacy for digital reporting systems
