Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, hauling, and lifting heavy materials.
- Operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy equipment, including jackhammers, rollers, and dump trucks.
- Assist with street maintenance, including pothole repair, sweeping, and striping.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Clean and prepare job sites before and after construction activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project status.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and machinery as directed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA) is preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is a plus.
