Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including road maintenance, park upkeep, and stormwater management
- Execute snow removal and ice control operations during winter emergencies
- Conduct equipment inspections and basic maintenance to ensure operational safety
- Adhere to OSHA standards and municipal safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement initiatives
- Document daily operations and submit accurate activity reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Resident of Columbus or Franklin County preferred
