Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., street sweepers, dump trucks) for infrastructure maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public facilities
- Assist in snow removal and emergency storm response
- Ensure proper waste management and recycling compliance
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal projects
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record
- CDL Class B certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Residency in Detroit preferred
