Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) for construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt paving
- Conduct routine maintenance on public facilities and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project efficiency
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class A or B CDL license preferred
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
