Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and drainage system maintenance
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws) under supervision
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control projects
- Maintain public facilities including sidewalks, playgrounds, and athletic fields
- Support emergency response efforts during severe weather events
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city maintenance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination
- Commitment to teamwork and punctuality
