Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving under supervisor guidance
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in repairing and maintaining sidewalks, streets, and drainage systems
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment safely
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and municipal safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Document daily work activities and material usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Previous public works or construction experience preferred
